The event was an overwhelming success as more than 40 Renfrew County entrepreneurs attended in preparation for the area’s inaugural Expo showca ing New Businesses.
Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation (RCCFDC), Enterprise Renfrew County (ERC) and myFM Radio hosted the seminar for businesses interested in participating in the New Business Expo that will take place at the Renfrew Armouries Friday, June 27, 2008.
The seminar covered topics including Pre-marketing, Creating a Dynamic Tradeshow Booth, Designing Memorable Print Marketing Materials, Effective Communications, and Tradeshow Etiquette and Expectations. April Cappel of myFM, Chris and Louise Hermitte, owners of SpeedPro Signs in Pembroke, Evan Burgess and Jeff Hazen of Blue North Web Studios in Renfrew, Fran Watson, Toastmasters aficionado, and Keanan Hunt, small business consultant with RCCFDC, addressed the audience with insight and passion, while attendees focussed on learning the tricks and tips to successful tradeshow participation.
“We wanted to give new businesses the opportunity to make the most of their participation in the Expo by teaching them how to capitalize on various aspects of the tradeshow,” commented Diane McKinnon, RCCFDC executive director. “The seminar provided attendees with the tools and confidence to help them achieve this goal and we are excited to see these new businesses in action in June.”
Registrations for the New Business Expo are still being accepted until Friday, May 30 from interested entrepreneurs who have been in business in Renfrew County for three years or less.
